Advanced Psychiatric Health - Winter Garden

Advanced Psychiatric Health is an outpatient psychiatry practice with offices across Florida. The Winter Garden office, west of Orlando, sees children, teens, and adults in person. Patients anywhere in Florida can also meet with a provider by video. The team includes a board-certified psychiatrist, three psychiatric nurse practitioners, and a licensed clinical social worker who provides therapy. One provider speaks Haitian Creole and French. Treating Depression When Medication Falls Short

Care starts with a psychiatric evaluation. From there, patients may get medication management, talk therapy, or both. Therapy may use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. For depression that hasn't improved with standard medication, this office offers transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and Spravato, a nasal spray form of ketamine given at the clinic. TMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate the parts of the brain tied to mood. One nurse practitioner here also offers medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder, and the therapist offers Christian counseling for clients who want it.
