About Orchard Place PACE Center
Orchard Place is a Des Moines-based nonprofit that provides mental health treatment for children, adolescents, and young adults in Iowa. Through its inpatient, outpatient, and community-based programs, Orchard Place serves youth from birth to age 21. Its services span the Child Guidance Center, PACE Center, and Residential Campus, with a trauma-sensitive approach across programs.
Get Community-Based Care Through PACE Center
Orchard Place PACE Center provides community-based services for children, teens, and families facing mental health and substance use challenges. Programs support youth in home, school, and community settings, helping them apply skills in daily life while addressing emotional, behavioral, and family needs.
Practice Skills in Everyday Environments
PACE Center offers Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS), an in-home program that helps children and adolescents build on skills introduced in therapy. Services focus on areas such as emotional regulation, behavior management, family relationships, peer connections, school engagement, and overall well-being.
Strengthen Recovery and Family Stability
PACE Center also provides outpatient substance use treatment for adolescents under 18, including assessments, education, and individual and group therapy. Additional contracted programs connect families with case management and coordinated support through local schools and Polk County Juvenile Court Services.
