About Norwood Health Center
Located on a partly wooded 20-acre campus in Marshfield, Norwood Health Center provides acute inpatient psychiatric care and long-term residential care for adults 18+ with chronic, acute, severe, or persistent mental illness. Its Specialized Psychiatric Rehabilitation Service has operated since 1974, and the center is licensed by Wisconsin as a specialty hospital and nursing home.
Shape Each Treatment Plan
Norwood Health Center is structured around short-term stabilization, psychiatric assessment, and individualized care planning. Services include individual counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), group therapy, psychoeducation, occupational therapy, medication management, neuropsychological testing, and family counseling. Care is delivered by psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, therapists, psychiatric technicians, and occupational therapists.
Sustain Care After Crisis
The long-term care program supports adults who need 24-hour skilled nursing care and specialized psychiatric rehabilitation. Residents receive activity programming, social services, skilled nursing, psychiatry, and primary care. Norwood Health Center also coordinates with law enforcement, crisis stabilization teams, outpatient providers, case management, local community-based care programs and outpatient providers to support return to the community when possible.
