The North Slope Borough's Behavioral Health Division offers care for individuals and families experiencing mental health challenges, with a focus on youth under 18. The Children & Youth Services (CYS) program operates a 14-bed emergency shelter. Mental health professionals are on site and available to young people and their families 24 hours a day, ensuring immediate support is always accessible to those in need.

This setting gives young people a safe place to receive emergency shelter and professional care. Trained mental health staff work directly with youth and their families to address their immediate needs, offering guidance and assistance within a structured and safe environment.
