Recovery.com is proud to spotlight Together in Recovery, an evening dedicated to connection, education, and hope for families navigating substance use and mental health challenges.

Taking place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture in Richmond, this special event will feature a film screening of Together: Family Recovery, followed by a meaningful conversation with respected voices in the recovery space.

The evening begins with a reception that brings together authors, filmmakers, and community members, followed by a screening and discussion. Centered on the idea that recovery is not a solo journey, Together in Recovery highlights the vital role families play in healing and offers attendees a chance to engage, learn, and feel less alone in the process.

About Our Special Guests

Caroline Beidler, author of When You Love Someone in Recovery, is a writer, speaker, and advocate focused on helping families navigate the emotional complexities of loving someone with substance use disorder. Drawing from both personal and professional experience, her work offers compassionate, practical guidance for maintaining boundaries, fostering connection, and supporting long-term recovery.

Tom Farley, co-author of The Chris Farley Show, is a writer, speaker, and advocate who shares his family’s experience with addiction and loss. As the brother of comedian Chris Farley, Tom brings a deeply personal perspective to conversations around substance use, grief, and recovery. Tom helps audiences better understand the importance of family support, awareness, and healing.

Illume Family Recovery is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families heal from the impact of substance use and mental health challenges.
