Dedicated to Veteran wellness, the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center supports Veterans with mental health needs including depression, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, grief, and substance use. Additional services include support for homeless Veterans, suicide prevention, and LGBTQ+ care through telehealth and same-day in-person appointments.
Women’s Health and Substance Use
At Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, Veterans with substance use disorders receive cognitive therapy and medication management. The women’s health program also offers military sexual trauma recovery support, female-focused primary care, maternity care, and wellness services.
Gentle Support, Thoughtful Care
Transportation assistance is available through partnerships with Disabled American Veterans and county Veterans Affairs offices. Services include individual and group therapy, counseling, psychiatric evaluations, and caregiver support resources designed to strengthen caregiving skills for families of enrolled Veterans.
