About Phoenix Medical Psychiatric Hospital
Designed for adults whose mental health crises overlap with complex medical or neurological needs, Phoenix Medical Psychiatric Hospital brings the NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals network’s integrated psychiatric and medical care model to central Phoenix. The center provides short-term inpatient stabilization and around-the-clock support for clients ages 18 and older. Their intake team accepts referrals 24/7 from clients, families, healthcare professionals, care facilities, and community organizations.
Bring Mental Health and Medical Care Together
Clients and caregivers help shape each care plan current symptoms, medical needs, and daily functioning. During intake, the team reviews medications, recent laboratory results, relevant legal documents, and the reason for referral. Psychiatric and medical evaluations guide treatment for depression, anxiety, psychosis, and schizophrenia, along with psychiatric symptoms related to Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, Parkinson’s disease, brain injuries, and stroke. The team combines medication management and nursing support with individual and group therapy, structured activities, and nutrition services. When needed, they also provide safety planning, trauma-informed support, de-escalation, closer observation, and help with daily activities. Before discharge, they coordinate the next steps with clients, families, social services and care facilities.
