Serving the Clinton community and surrounding areas, MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center offers a hospital-based day treatment (PHP) program for adults with behavioral health conditions. Clients may enter the program after an inpatient stay or when outpatient care no longer provides enough support.

Building Skills for Everyday Life

The center provides psychiatric consultations, medication management, individual therapy, family therapy, and group counseling. The program also includes stress management, relaxation training, sleep education, and goal setting. Treatment runs Monday through Friday for 1 to 6 weeks, depending on each client’s progress. Breakfast and lunch follow American Heart Association dietary guidelines, and snacks are provided.
