About Hope is Alive Ministries - The Healing Center
Hope is Alive Ministries provides Christ-centered treatments for substance use, opening later.
Hope is Alive began with founder Lance Lang's recovery from addiction and his wife and co-founder Ally's experience supporting him during recovery. They have board members at their central Oklahoma City office and the other cities they regularly operate in.
Hope is Alive attests that addiction is a disease, there is power in prayer and community, recovery is possible for the whole family, it's important to replace negative behaviors with healthy behaviors, feeling is part of healing, and there is hope.
Set outside Oklahoma City on 75 acres of grassy countryside, the Healing Center provides structured days that typically include a sunrise devotional, small group meetings, experiential group programs and teaching, lunch, life skills, exercise, gardening, and spiritual mentorship. The program goes for 45 days. Afterward, participants can opt for an additional 45 days or for one of Hope is Alive's sober living facilities.
The Healing Center's amenities include an outdoor lounge with a tabernacle, a community garden, a swimming pool, a hot tub, a sauna, horses, and trails for prayer walks and exploration. Inside their 25-bed facility, they have shared rooms with air-conditioning and natural light. They employ on-site dietitians who handle dietary accommodations and provide nutritional recommendations.
Treatment consists of individual and group counseling using a mix of evidence-based therapy like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), prayer and faith, red-light bio-medical treatment, and experiences. The principles of their recovery are biblical community, complete self, nutritional transformation, spiritual freedom, and divine purpose. Twice a week, a group of 3 residents and an outside mentor meet, ask each other questions, and discuss trauma. Their medical director and psychiatrist regularly check on clients' wellness. To incorporate family in the recovery, they host family visit weekends.
The Healing Center doesn't offer medication-assisted treatment.
Although the program is Christian, they welcome people from all faiths or no faith.
The Healing Center uses a sliding scale for costs they designed to make the program affordable. They don't take insurance.
Hope is Alive is based in Oklahoma City but has a national reach through their residential, sober living, virtual outpatient, and family therapy programs, as well as their retreats, YouVersion Bible reading plan, and church, corporate, and school partnerships. They feature Craig Groeschel's endorsement on their YouTube, and they've worked with Groeschel, Tim Tebow, Brandon Lake, and Ben Fuller on their retreat programs. They provide information about their regular and special programming through their printed RADICAL magazine and blog posts.
An alternative to the residential treatment is the 90-day virtual outpatient treatment, Hope is Alive, which provides 6 hours of online treatment a week and drug testing. This option is designed for people who are working, continuing school, or taking care of family during treatment.
Following residential or outpatient treatment, Hope is Alive operates many sober living facilities with 12-18 months of treatment and structure.
Their "HopeLine" at (844) 346-7366 provides advice and discusses their treatment options and resources for individuals in need and their family members. They also offer to connect callers with opportunities to volunteer or donate.
Hope is Alive provides family care for free through their Finding Hope program. They hold meetings twice a month for 60-90 minutes. They are faith-based and commit to intentionally loving, supporting, and praying for each other.
Hope is Alive also provides a Hope After Loss counseling program to help people who have lost a loved one to addiction. They want to help family members heal and reconcile.
Their special events include retreats, sobriety-focused worship nights, baptisms, and golf tournaments.
