About Heartlight
Heartlights Ministries is a Christian boarding school dedicated to assisting troubled teens and their parents towards a positive path. Heartlight has provided support to over 3,000 teenagers over the years. Renowned for its effective program, the facility offers a secure environment for 56 young individuals, aged 13-17, seeking guidance in rebuilding their lives.
The Heartlight program is tailored to the individual, however it is often a year-long program. Teens will move through the phases using a three-step phased method until graduation. Individualized attention is given to each student to ensure successful academic advancement, with weekly performance targets serving as benchmarks. Residents attend classes five days a week and have the option to participate in evening classes to catch up or get ahead in their curriculum.
At Heartlight Boarding School, every resident receives weekly counseling sessions guided by a biblical counseling model. Each resident is assigned a dedicated counselor. Counselors conduct 2 group sessions and 1 individual counseling session per week with each student. They play an integral role in the lives of both the students and their parents, serving as the primary point of contact for each family. Regular phone updates are provided to parents following the individual counseling sessions with their teenagers, addressing important therapeutic matters. Counselors also engage with parents during on-site retreats and family weekends, maintaining communication through email.
On top of weekly Bible studies, house ventures, and special sporting events, Teens can enjoy a variety of activities including horseback riding, a ropes course, water sports, paintball, and more.
