About Hammocks On The Edisto
Set along the riverside Lowcountry near Charleston, Hammocks on the Edisto is a women-only residential center treating addiction, dual diagnosis, and trauma together, since one rarely shows up without the other. Care includes inpatient residential treatment with coordinated detox for women who need it beforehand. They host no more than 15 women at a time, so therapists aren't stretched thin, and clients get consistent one-on-one attention.
Unpack Her Story, Not Just Her Symptoms
Treatment is built around each woman's story, using methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing to work through what's driving the addiction. Holistic healing is just as central, using yoga and meditation to help women reconnect with their bodies. The 12 Steps are woven into daily life as well. With no more than 15 women in the program at a time and small caseloads for each therapist, every woman gets undivided attention.
Heal in a Place Worth Remembering
Set along the Edisto River near Charleston, the property has a long driveway lined with Lowcountry scenery, and is a gorgeous Southern estate designed for comfort. Inside, women enjoy chef-prepared meals, cozy shared spaces, and the occasional visit from the two resident therapy dogs. Capped at 15 women, the property stays quiet enough to heal in and beautiful enough to remember long after treatment ends.
Continue the Work, Surrounded by Support
When women graduate from the program, treatment doesn’t end, but it changes shape. Charleston outings and other forms of sober fun continue giving women chances to practice what they've learned. Individualized aftercare planning helps map out the next steps, whether that is outpatient therapy, sober living, or simple check-ins with the team. Hammocks has over 550 active alumni staying connected, so no one feels alone after they leave.
