About Fresh Start of California
Fresh Start of California provides resources to support individuals and couples in leading drug and alcohol-free lives, using a tailored approach to treatment that considers the root causes of addiction, including trauma, co-occurring mental health disorders, and environmental factors.
Staff are available around the clock for both the detox and residential care.
Well experienced nurses and a doctor at Fresh Start of California oversee the detoxification process around-the-clock. They tailor detox to each client's needs, using a personalized, result-driven approach. Fresh Start also offers medication-assisted detox (MAT) for those who need it.
Fresh Start of California helps their patients recover by teaching them life skills, recognizing each small triumph, and by having a caring and supportive team. They use 12-Step therapy, yoga and art therapy 3 times per week, music therapy, process groups, and group therapy as part of their treatment plan.
Clients participate in 3-5 hours of individual therapy and 30 hours of group therapy each week. They tailor treatment therapies to each client's needs, but their most common techniques are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). The groups are small and gender-specific. For couples, they also receive couples counseling that includes interpersonal therapy for good communication during recovery.
On Saturdays, the staff lead all-day excursions to the beach and other places with activities.
Clients can pick private or semi-private rooms for the same price. Their rooms come with smart TVs with cable, Netflix, Hulu, and more streaming services. Housekeeping maintains the rooms weekly to ensure a serene atmosphere for reflection. Outside the rooms, clients have a view of nature.
In addition to substance use treatment, clients at Fresh Start of California can receive treatment for mental illness as part of Fresh Start's integrated approach. To meet the needs of their clients, they have a licensed psychiatrist on site, a registered nurse, psychotherapy, and support groups. Through group and individual therapy, Fresh Start can address the relationship between mental health issues and substance use disorders for comprehensive healing.
After clients complete residential treatment at Fresh Start, they can attend outpatient treatment or enroll in sober living here. Fresh Start facilitates alumni events, group therapy, follow-up visits, and home support.
