About Design for Recovery Sober Living - Mar Vista
Located in the beachy, laid-back Los Angeles neighborhood of Mar Vista, Design for Recovery offers young men in early sobriety a structured environment based on the 12-Step principles of honesty, integrity, accountability, responsibility, and service. Design for Recovery understands that addiction is complicated and can affect many aspects of a young man’s life. Achieving sobriety is about more than merely staying away from addictive substances; real sobriety is an ongoing rebuilding process. Design for Recovery residents are assigned a mentor to help them develop the skills and tools needed for early sobriety. In addition to one-on-one mentoring, residents receive assistance with medication monitoring, money management, and employment support.
While living at Design for Recovery and developing these skills, residents can repair relationships and reflect on the underlying issues that drove them to addiction. As residents work on their own recovery, they place themselves in a stronger position to help others and become mentors and leaders in the recovery community. Design for Recovery believes that a sober social support system is not only a strong bulwark against relapse, but also the foundation for a joyous life down the road.
