At Recovery.com, we list any provider treating addiction and/or mental health in the United States. In a desire to be comprehensive and help patients make informed decisions, we list all licensed centers as well as sober living homes and peer support organizations.
Patients can see a range of treatment options available to them, as well as share their experiences and insights about various treatment centers and recovery services via reviews. This information is typically a matter of public record and public concern, so we do not remove listings.
We understand some treatment providers may prefer to maintain a low profile, but it is important—and a legal right—for helpful, transparent information about recovery services to be accessible.
If you need to update or change the information on your provider profile, you can do so by emailing [email protected]. Please provide any relevant updates or additional information to ensure accuracy, including if your facility is permanently or temporarily closed. (Note that closed facilities may still appear in Recovery.com search results to inform users that the facility is no longer in operation.)
We recognize that people will have different treatment paths, so we list and advertise a variety of treatment providers from ultra luxury destination rehab centers to affordable outpatient centers that accept insurance.
We assess each provider seeking to advertise based upon our own research, information submitted by the provider to us and information in government databases.
At minimum, centers must have comfortable, clean, and safe environments for all facilities related to the treatment experience (e.g., clinical facilities and residences).
Centers must employ qualified staff respective to a person’s position and the level of care advertised. For example, we expect to see a Clinical Director with years of experience, formal training, and license(s) related to addiction and mental health treatment.
Since some people may find certain treatment approaches and therapies work better for them than others, we include a variety of centers. For example, treatment approaches range from 12-Step and holistic to evidence-based and individualized, just to name a few.
Typically, through the lens of the core treatment philosophy, higher quality centers offer a multifaceted set of therapies and their therapists have many therapies in their “tool box ” to help clients with addiction and mental health needs. A well-rounded clinical program is a key consideration for advertising on Recovery.com.
Centers must respect clients, and part of that respect is maintaining client privacy and confidentiality.
