ATTIC (Alternative To Traditional Incarceration of Citizens) helps adults in Wisconsin and Minneapolis involved in the justice system. They work with the Wisconsin and Minnesota corrections departments, Wisconsin and Minnesota health departments, U.S. district courts, and some Wisconsin counties to find non-prison treatment options, including substance use and mental health treatment, job training, community service options, and housing support. They aim to reduce recidivism, increase public safety, and improve clients' long-term success.Available AlternativesSome services ATTIC uses are screenings to determine appropriate alternatives, case management, electronic monitoring, drug and alcohol testing, DUI/OWI court programs, individual therapy, group therapy, community service arrangements, and halfway housing. Their therapies take an evidence-based approach with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and moral reconation therapy (MRT). Their halfway housing allows limited visitation and aims to help clients ease back into normal life in a productive manner.
