About Alter Mental Health San Diego
Alter Mental Health San Diego is a crisis stabilization facility offering an alternative to inpatient hospitalization. Their comfortable, homelike environment features an outdoor lounge, private or shared rooms, and pet friendly accommodations to support adult clients experiencing a mental health crisis. Alter Mental Health’s staff includes psychiatrists, nurses, and mental health counselors who can provide evidence-based therapies, medication management, and referrals for ongoing services. The goal of their program is to move individuals to a less-intensive level of care as soon as it is safe to do so, typically within 10-20 days. Alter Mental Health has a 6-step stabilization plan that starts with defining the problem and moves towards obtaining commitment from the client, with them being prepared to return to their normal environments.
