About Village Counseling - Hampden
Therapy for children, first responders, LGBTQ+ clients, and working professionals expands Village Counseling’s individual, couples, family, and group counseling at its Hampden office in Baltimore. Therapists address anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, relationship concerns, stress, grief, and anger, with telehealth also available for clients who prefer virtual care. Same-day telehealth appointments extend access from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
How Therapy Is Structured
Therapists use culturally competent, evidence-based practices and select approaches based on the service and concern being addressed. Individual and group counseling use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness, while other services incorporate motivational interviewing and solution-focused therapy. The practice also uses eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and art therapy, with play-based approaches in child therapy. Individual sessions typically last 53-60 minutes, and most groups meet weekly.
Therapy Tailored to Specific Groups
Services for first responders, LGBTQ+ clients, professionals, and children address concerns tied to each population. First responders can receive individual counseling, group therapy, stress management workshops, and resilience training for trauma, stress, and burnout. LGBTQ+ services address identity, coming out, discrimination, and relationships, while professional services focus on burnout, work-life integration, and career transitions. Child therapists address depression and self-harm and may involve parents through updates, joint sessions, or selected interventions.
