About The Psychotherapy Cooperative
Founded by graduates of Seattle University’s Master of Psychology program, The Psychotherapy Cooperative began in 1996 as a nonprofit organization. They established the organization in response to managed care restrictions that limited access to psychotherapy and emphasized prescribed treatments. Based in Seattle’s Madison Valley neighborhood, they provide 1-on-1 counseling for adults who cannot afford services through private practices or community mental health agencies. Seattle University graduates also serve as therapists, clinical supervisors, board members, and participating members, contributing their services on a pro bono basis.
A Place to Explore Personal Challenges
The Psychotherapy Cooperative provides individual therapy for adults experiencing depression, discouragement, low self-esteem, anxiety, difficult life transitions, and other concerns affecting their quality of life. They do not offer medication management, and their therapists typically do not provide crisis intervention or case management services.
