Focusing on the patterns that shape emotions, behaviors, and relationships, Seattle Therapy and Counseling helps adults and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout, and relationship concerns. Founded by therapists Emily Grogan and Chris Paredes, the private practice offers individual and couples therapy from 2 locations in Seattle and virtually throughout Washington. They also help clients address stress, anger, substance use, infidelity, divorce, low self-esteem, and major life transitions.

Building Stronger Connections

Seattle Therapy and Counseling takes a relational and attachment-focused approach, helping clients explore past experiences and relationships influence present-day patterns. Emily and Chris draw from emotionally focused therapy and the Gottman Method to improve connection and communication, while cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, and acceptance and commitment therapies help clients respond differently to difficult thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Couples can also access premarital counseling, including an 8-week private course designed to build healthy relationship patterns and strong foundation for marriage.

Processing Trauma and Creating Change

For trauma and distressing memories, Emily and Chris can incorporate eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and other trauma-focused approaches into therapy. They may also use mindfulness and art-based approaches to help clients explore and process their experiences. Rather than applying the same method to everyone, they tailor therapy to each client’s needs, experiences, and goals. Clients can attend sessions at either Seattle location or virtually throughout Washington.
