About Queer LifeSpace
Founded in 2011, Queer LifeSpace is a queer-designed mental health counseling agency that makes therapy more affordable and affirming for for LGBTQIA+ clients and allies. They offer sliding-scale individual, couples, and group therapy in person and on Zoom for adults, adolescents ages 12-17, and transitional youth ages 18–24 across California. Their services help clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal ideation, and Substance Use Disorder.
Find Belonging Through Therapy
Their queer-affirming approach treats each client as an individual without pathologizing identity. Clinicians provide individual, couples, and group therapy, while identity-based groups create dedicated spaces for gay men, queer women, gender-diverse people, neuro-queer clients, polyamorous and non-monogamous communities, and queer and trans Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) clients. This combination of affordable counseling and community-centered support helps clients connect with other who share similar lived experiences.
Explore Care Beyond Therapy
Queer LifeSpace also runs programs that reach beyond weekly therapy. The Outlandish! program takes LGBTQIA+ youth ages 13–18 outdoors for guided hikes, sailing, kayaking, and ecology outings. The EQUARTY program combines counseling for emerging queer artists with financial literacy, grant applications, branding, photography, art supplies, and exhibition opportunities. Through its Rural Youth Outreach program, Queer LifeSpace also provides free individual and group counseling to LGBTQIA+ youth in underserved California communities.
