For more than 40 years, Community Counseling & Mediation (CCM) has provided mental health services across Brooklyn and Manhattan. The Crown Heights Clinic is one of CCM’s five Article 31 satellite mental health clinics in Brooklyn. Located right next door to Rico’s Place, one of CCM’s supportive housing programs, they clinic serves clients ages 10 and older, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. They offer individual and group therapy, including child and adolescent counseling, play and art therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and conflict mediation, psychiatric evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and medication management.

Delivering Culturally Responsive Care

Therapists develop individualized case formulations for each client and family, considering their views, cultural needs, and life experiences. The clinical team delivers culturally responsive, multilingual care using short- and long-term psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychoeducation, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy. Services also include anger management, bereavement counseling, and parenting groups. The clinic is also home to several of CCM’s Youth and Educations programs, which connect children, teens, and young adults with education enrichment, after-school activities, employment opportunities, and behavioral health services.
