About Community Counseling & Mediation - Clinton Clinic
For more than 40 years, Community Counseling & Mediation (CCM) has provided mental health services across Brooklyn and Manhattan. The Clinton Clinic is one of CCM’s five Article 31 satellite mental health clinics in Brooklyn. Located near the Brooklyn Food Stamp Department, the clinic serves clients ages 10 and older through in-person and telehealth care. They provide individual and group therapy, adolescent counseling, play and art therapy, couples and family therapy, conflict mediation, psychiatric evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and medication management. Clinicians develop case formulations for each client and family while considering their individual and cultural needs.
Delivering Culturally Responsive Care
Therapists develop individualized case formulations for each client and family, considering their views, cultural needs, and life experiences. The clinical team delivers culturally responsive, multilingual care using short- and long-term psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychoeducation, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy. Clients can also access anger management, bereavement counseling, and parenting groups.
The clinic also houses 2 community-based programs. Family & Youth Peer Support (FYPS) offers peer support, advocacy, groups, and service navigation for children, youth, and families, while Treatment Access and Prevention Services (TAPS) offers adults with case management, rapid HIV testing, PrEP/PEP navigation, health coordination, legal assistance, referrals to behavioral health, substance use, and other community services.
