Trauma shapes much of the clinical work, with the practice offering counseling for PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, sexual trauma, and related concerns. Austin Counseling and Trauma Specialists serves clients ages 13 and older through individual, couples, family, and group therapy. Its Cedar Park counselors also work with first responders, military personnel, LGBTQ+ clients, and survivors of sexual abuse or assault, with telehealth available throughout Texas.

Tailoring Therapy to the Client

Counselors shape treatment around each client’s goals, using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, mindfulness, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), brainspotting, and other approaches the team uses in practice. Several counselors are EMDR-trained, and one is Brainspotting-certified. ACTS also runs a 12-week Male Survivors Group plus ongoing Gender Exploration and Parent of Trans Teens groups, with in-person and secure video sessions available.
