About Plum Creek Recovery Ranch
A Joint Commission-accredited residential treatment center, Plum Creek Recovery Ranch sits on a 200-acre ranch between Austin and Lockhart and specializes in substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Combining evidence-based clinical care with experiential therapies, family involvement, and strong ties to the local recovery community, its experienced team helps patients understand the drivers of addiction and build the skills and support for lasting recovery.
Heal Through Whole-Person Treatment
Treatment at Plum Creek addresses the whole person through evidence-based individual and group therapy alongside experiential therapies applied in real time. Patients take part in individual counseling, group and family sessions, equine therapy, ropes course activities, fitness, and nature walks. Each day blends therapy, experiential activities, meals, time outdoors, and downtime, all designed to build healthier patterns, strengthen recovery skills, and prepare for life beyond residential treatment.
Rebuild Through Experiential Therapy
The program is particularly strong in treating co-occurring conditions, integrating family involvement, and using the ranch environment as an extension of clinical care. Plum Creek not only helps individuals stop substance use, but helps clients learn how to live, how to handle stress and conflict, and connect with others without reaching for escape. They use experiential therapy to help people practice recovery skills in a real, grounded way and rebuild from the inside out, steady and supported.
Transition With Ongoing Support
Before a patient leaves, the team develops a detailed plan that fits their needs and location, coordinating referrals, sharing records, and ensuring a smooth transition to the next level of care. Beyond residential care, on-site medical detox, and family programming, Plum Creek stays in touch after discharge and helps each patient move into outpatient care, sober living, and the Central Texas recovery community through its alumni program.
