About Northlands
This center provides assistance to individuals who seek help for various issues related to substance use, including alcohol, prescription medications, illicit drugs, and legal highs. They also address compulsive behaviors like gambling, internet addiction, and eating disorders. Anyone reaching out, whether due to personal awareness of their problem or on the advice of family, friends, or employers, undergoes an initial interview with a counselor. This assessment helps determine the severity of the issues and guides the selection of appropriate assistance. The center offers various forms of support, including advice, information, counseling, family support, residential treatment, and aftercare. They emphasize the importance of seeking help early and aim to provide knowledge, expertise, and tailored assistance to individuals dealing with substance misuse or related compulsive behaviors.
All individuals who come to Northlands for treatment will work with the same counselor throughout their time seeking help. The residential program includes psychoeducational sessions followed by group therapy sessions. The individual’s family is involved in the process as well, in order to heal the dynamic and dysfunction that commonly occurs. After residential, individuals can receive outpatient care and attend weekly AA/NA meetings, as well as weekly group therapy sessions.
