About East Coast Recovery
Previously a residential programme that offered multiple recovery houses for adults with addiction, East Coast Recovery has since made the switch to an outpatient, online therapy service. Patients undergo an initial assessment to determine a personalised treatment plan, which will be applied throughout treatment in virtual group and individual talk-therapy sessions.
Addiction counsellors work with patients combining evidence-based treatment methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with an introduction to the 12-step programme principles.
Individual therapy sessions can take place on video or over the phone, and provide a safe space to work through addiction and underlying co-occurring issues with a trained addiction specialist. Online recovery groups focus on addiction education, providing clients with an informative foundation for their sobriety. East Coast Recovery also offers an exploring addiction programme for clients who do not wish to partake in group therapy.
Group therapy sessions are facilitated by addiction specialists and offer 50 minute sessions of trauma and psychodynamic therapies. Person centered therapy offers a client led style of treatment that allows patients to work through and process trauma while being supported and listened to by their therapist. Trauma therapy addresses underlying trauma and how the long-term impact can lead to addiction and self medicating. Psychodynamic psychotherapy may help clients identify underlying triggers and causes to their substance misuse and offer tools to help manage those triggers and impulses. Therapy for family members is also available.
East Coast Recovery strives to provide affordable and conveniently accessible treatment for drug and alcohol addictions by making it easy to blend therapy into busy lifestyles. Whether on its own or along with residential or aftercare, their online services can be beneficial for anyone looking for support when struggling with addiction.
