Sober living at Design for Recovery was a lifesaver for me. The place provided a structured and homely environment where I could focus on rebuilding my life. With regular check-ins, 12-step recovery principles, dedicated mentors, and support from my co-residents, I gained not only sobriety but also a sense of responsibility and purpose. This experience helped me form meaningful relationships and taught me accountability, which made a huge difference in my recovery journey.

Almost for about a decade, I was a drug addict who felt without hope. I am indebted to my parents for not giving up on me and discovering Design for Recovery. It’s just another facility, I thought and the same program that never worked for me. But they have proven me wrong. Perhaps it is the whole team working behind it? Eight months after joining DFR, I haven’t had a single drink yet! They really made me feel like I mattered even when they were tough on me at times; the facility was both home-like and also accountable enough in handling many of my needs. The best among all other institutions in Los Angeles.

It’s the Wi-Fi connection and the pool that I will miss most about Design for Recovery. It’s the people, though, the staff, co-residents like myself, David and the rest of the team. Very importantly, I have gained a lot of knowledge on how to put my life back into a straight line. Cooking and sharing meals together is what I will miss most about our time here in Design for Recovery. When you have people who inspire you to be better, My family also took part in this journey and has benefited from these sessions as well. The support given here is excellent and it feels like a second home. If you are looking for a place where they really get it and help you out; Design for Recovery is your sure bet!

Design for Recovery gave my son hope, and as a father, the transformation I’ve witnessed has been truly remarkable. He went from struggling with addiction to living a sober life, and the support and structure at DFR provided him with the tools to rebuild his life with dignity and purpose. I am deeply grateful to David Beasley and his team for their unwavering dedication to helping young men like my son turn their lives around. They faced the same challenges that this program helped them overcome. Now, my son is nearing the completion of college and has taken up running since leaving DFR. Our relationship has been slowly rebuilt, and it's been incredibly fulfilling to see the progress. I’m so proud of his achievements, and I’ve learned to be more patient with him. Recovery can be tough for both the addict and their family, but with the right support, it makes all the difference. If you want a brighter future for your loved one, take them to DFR. Excellent work!

The reason why I decided to go for Design for Recovery was because of the way that they treated me with respect from the beginning. Since my initial call until the day I left, I was made welcome and accepted. We went through struggles together, celebrated our successes and laughed a lot. This involved cooking together, supporting one another’s goals, exercising as a group and planning ahead. It gave me optimism that my life would change for better. David and Derek, who are also founders have been through this experience so they understand us well.
