About Cygnet Vincent Court
The team at Cygnet is dedicated to providing a positive and comfortable experience and atmosphere, with specialised high support inpatient rehabilitation for men experiencing mental illness, with a focus on achieving community reintegration. Ideal candidates have a mental health diagnosis such as schizophrenia, mood or personality disorders, bipolar, and depression, who have previous failed treatment attempts, or who are detained under the Mental Health Act. Their program is best suited for men with a primary mental illness diagnosis, who may be enduring complex co-occurring disorders including substance abuse, a mild learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, or may require long-term care for acute mental health needs. Clients may have a history of treatment resistance, complex comorbidities, or are victims of sexual or domestic violence.
Their program utilises various therapies like psychodynamic therapy, family therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, drama therapy and other complementary therapies for a personalised approach. The programs at Cygnet emphasise patient-centred care by actively involving patients in their treatment plans, and all aspects of life while recovering.
Cygnet’s Vincent Court location is a 5-bed community rehabilitation service (level 1), designed as a transitional program for men who are ready to step down from their Cygnet Fountains program to receive a lower level of care. Vincent Court will also accept referrals from outside programs or directly from the community. Their safe, home-like environment allows clients to continue their recovery journeys with reduced intervention from staff as they transition back into an independent lifestyle.
Their facility is a large detached residential home, with private bedrooms featuring ensuite bathrooms. A large kitchen is the centre of the home, where clients can participate in community meals and group cooking sessions. Outside of the facility is a relaxing, lovely garden and sitting area for clients to enjoy. Their Vincent Court home is monitored 24 hours per day by experienced mental health rehabilitation staff. Their program places an emphasis on practising newly-learned life skills and coping strategies, community-based activities, education and vocational therapy, job placement, and development of hobbies and interests.
With a blend of occupational therapy, psychology and clinical interventions, Cygnet Vincent Court provides a balanced approach, helping men enhance their personal and professional skills and rebuild their lives.
