About Cygnet Lodge Salford
The team at Cygnet is dedicated to providing a positive and comfortable experience and atmosphere, with specialised high support inpatient rehabilitation for women experiencing mental illness, with a focus on achieving community reintegration. Ideal candidates have a mental health diagnosis such as schizophrenia, mood or personality disorders, bipolar, and depression, who have previous failed treatment attempts, or who are detained under the Mental Health Act. Their program is best suited for women with a primary mental illness diagnosis, who may be enduring complex co-occurring disorders including substance abuse, a mild learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, or may require long-term care for acute mental health needs.
Their program utilises various therapies like psychodynamic therapy, family therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, drama therapy and other complementary therapies for a personalised approach. The programs at Cygnet emphasise patient-centred care by actively involving patients in their treatment plans, and all aspects of life while recovering.
Women 18 and older reside in their main ward, a 19-bed facility with ensuite bathrooms and access to a number of communal living spaces, a beauty salon, sensory room, IT room, and therapy kitchen attached to a large, open dining area. Outside the facility, they have beautiful and spacious garden areas where clients can garden, plant vegetables, and enjoy outdoor activities.
Additionally, Cygnet Lodge Salford has 3 bespoke apartments, allowing women to transition to a more independent living style where they can safely test their newly learned skills before fully reintegrating into the community. The facility is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood, within walking distance of local shops, restaurants, colleges, churches, libraries, and leisure activities.
With a blend of occupational therapy, psychology and clinical interventions, Cygnet Lodge Salford provides a balanced approach, helping women enhance their personal and professional skills and rebuilding their lives.
